[ He should have done this sooner, but Minato supposes it's better late than never. After being released from Willow Clinic, he made sure Aigis had her own room at the inn, one that was barely a door away from his own.
It's been more than a few days since Aigis initially arrived in Aldrip. She's already met a handful of other Chosen, but he's still not asked how she's been settling in.
Thus he finds himself hovering outside her door. He knocks twice, a hesitant timidity behind each rap on its surface. ]
Aigis?
[ There's a part of him that stings with guilt. She'd occasionally dropped by to check in with him, even though Aigis was the newcomer here. There was little to celebrate about over the past couple of weeks, given Sha-Ming's disappearance. But now that he's returned and Minato's reacquired his bearings, it's time to put those Leader pants back on again. ]
[She's felt something akin to a pit in her stomach for a while now, though she has neither a stomach nor a pit to put in it. It's strange, on one hand, she's overjoyed... And yet she can't bring herself to calm down, still feeling on high alert.
Aigis registers Minato's footsteps before his knock, and then his knock before his voice. She knows it's him before he says so. Her non-existent stomach is again full of pits or butterflies or whatever's supposed to be in there. She quickly gets up from her charging station and goes to answer the door.]
Minato-san? Is something wrong?
[She inwardly flinches at that being her first assumption, but... she's scared. The thought of losing him again... she pushes it out of her mind.]
[ Minato shakes his head, quick to allay Aigis' concerns. He, too, feels the weight of her question. It's difficult to fault her for it though, given what occurred the last time they were together.
He tries to smile. It ends up sheepish and a little repentant. ]
No, I just wanted to ask how you're adjusting to life here.
[ A beat, as he continues to hover outside Aigis' door. ]
[That thought hadn't even occurred to her. At first she's also about to let him in immediately before realizing that's probably something she should think about too. But the decision comes to her quickly, as she opens up the door fully and beckons him in.]
It's okay.
[Aigis hasn't really personalized the room aside from a few things here and there, a machine to keep her charged and some bits and ends for repairs. Honestly, it looks more like a normal room than her dorm room, since this one was originally intended for a human.]
I'm glad you're alright. [But he had asked about her, hadn't he?] It's unusual having all this free time...
[ He steps in as Aigis opens the door fully. Minato takes a moment to survey the room. It looks like the typical room provided by the inn. In fact, it's not particularly different from his own, given that his room didn't contain much other than a bed and a dresser.
Minato nods in agreement with Aigis' assessment. ]
It is, isn't it?
[ Back home, free time was a limited commodity. All time was spent dedicated to furthering SEES' mission in defeating Shadows and eliminating the Dark Hour. ]
...I wasn't sure what to do with myself too. Others have told me to use this time for the things I wanted to do before, but couldn't.
[ Here he is, passing the wisdom he'd received from other Chosen. ]
[She shakes her head, she can't dwell on that anymore. He's right in front of her, isn't it? There's no reason being sad about something that isn't even relevant.]
What sort of things have you been doing, Minato-san? I suppose... there are still many things I want to do with you, too.
[ Even if he could peer into Aigis' mind, Minato's choice of words would remain the same. It's the truth, after all.
He lapses into silence as he considers Aigis' question. He contemplates it seriously, now that he's being asked to recount everything he'd done ever since arriving in Aldrip. He'd thought there hadn't been much, but... he'd joined Scott's club and gotten to know Kotone. He'd befriended Sha-Ming and Toph. He'd assisted in retrieving Dara's organs after her evisceration. And then he'd started helping Ethlyn and Marianne's healing efforts within the Arztenritter.

I've... met a lot of new people. Everyone's been good to me.
[ Good enough.
He cants his head a bit at his company. ]

Minato offers a smile, though it doesn't quite reach his eyes. He sees the beginnings of the picture now, the early sketch marks of the hole he must have left in everyone else. ]
It's okay. It's not embarrassing to me.
[ He holds a hand out to her, waiting for Aigis to take it. ]
...I'm not going anywhere, so we have lots of time.
[ He curls his fingers around hers once she's laid her palm against his own. ]
I promise.
[ At the very least, it's a promise he intends to keep. People disappear from time to time. Minato's seen it for himself now. Disclosing this information to Aigis as she is now though seems like a terrible idea.
